Public & Patient Involvement Facilitator
Derek is the Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Facilitator helping to develop and support the Research Patient Ambassadors Group and all aspects of public involvement in the work of the Research and Innovation Department at PHT. Derek originally trained as a Mental Health Nurse specialising in Child and Family Therapy before moving into health and social care research as a Research Fellow. Derek has also worked with the Research Design Service South Central as a Research Advisor with a lead for PPI. Throughout his career he has always believed in the involvement of the public and patients in both service delivery and research.
